Where Theory Meets Thread
This blog traces the journey of an idea becoming a garment.
This blog is my reflective diary as I work through the Entrepreneurship module, blending what I learn in class with the process of building my own fashion collection. Each week, I examine how theory connects to practice, linking class discussions with hands-on work involving fabric, sketches, and sewing. Over time, ideas such as innovation, leadership, ethics, and entrepreneurial identity began to shape both my designs and my creative process. From creating a moodboard to finishing a garment, each step became an experiment in turning theory into something tangible, providing a practical framework for reflecting on these concepts in action. Reflective practice encourages individuals to analyse their experiences in order to better understand their decision-making and learning processes (Bolton, 2018). By sharing my weekly learning alongside the development of my collection, I aim to demonstrate how entrepreneurial thinking can inspire creativity while also reflecting on the challenges, breakthroughs, and personal growth that emerged throughout the process.

ABOUT

My name is Victoria Cozen. I am 27 years old and originally from Los Angeles. I grew up attending a French school before moving to New York to study Magazine Journalism in college. I later pursued my passion for fashion in Paris, earning a degree in Fashion Design with a specialization in lingerie from ESMOD Paris.
After graduating, I worked as an Assistant Designer at the French lingerie brand Livy, gaining hands-on experience in design and development. I then worked as a Production Assistant at Town Productions, which helped me better understand both the creative and production sides of the industry.
I am currently pursuing an MA in Creative Entrepreneurship at Vogue College of Fashion in London. My long-term goal is to launch my own brand that merges lingerie and tailoring, creating garments where lingerie is not hidden but instead becomes the focal point of the look.
